Operating Instructions
Instructions for FIRST-TIME use and ongoing best practice and maintenance:
Please take note of the 3 most important points below to apply to your brush cutter before using it:
1. Two-Stroke Oil:
- Use a high-quality two-stroke oil designed for air-cooled engines.
- The ratio for these brush cutters is 25:1 (fuel to oil).
- Mix the two-stroke oil and fuel thoroughly in a separate container before filling the brush cutter’s fuel tank.
- Do not use automotive motor oil, as it lacks the additives required for two-stroke engines.
2. Break-In Period:
- During the initial period of use, please follow this break-in programme: for the first 4 fuel tanks, run it with load (cutting grass) at low RPMS OR run it as per normal revs for 1 hour (avoid high-revving while its new) and then rest the machine for 30 mins. Continue this for 4 tanks of fuel. Then resume normal use.
3. Maintenance:
- Regularly clean or replace air filters and spark plugs
- Check for grass in the Cooling Air Intake daily and clean if necessary
- Grease Gear Box every third month
- Clean air filter weekly
4. Fuel:
- Use fresh, clean, and unleaded petrol with the recommended octane level.
- Never use ethanol-blended fuels as this can cause engine damage.
5. Storage:
- Store the fuel mixture in an approved container and in a cool, dry place.
- Use the fuel mixture within a reasonable timeframe, as stale fuel can lead to engine problems.
6. Quality Matters:
- Invest in high-quality oil and fuel to ensure better engine performance and longevity.
- Cheaper, low-quality oils may save money initially but can lead to increased maintenance costs and decreased engine lifespan.
Consult your distributor (Maxigro) for specific recommendations tailored to your brush cutter model.
